Experience exchange field trip of Kalmunai and Kalmunai North Division was held on Sunday 21.05.2023.
The purpose of trip is to reconcile Kalmunai and Kalmunai North Region. It was a full-day event, a social initiative involving a field visit to the Sinhala speaker population of Damana region, learning about the people’s lifestyles, cultural values, food and clothing culture, and sharing the past and present experiences of the three communities with each other.
The initial event of this event was started with the lighting of the auspicious cultural event at the Damana assembly hall followed by the participants who were divided into 10 groups and went to 10 houses and stayed in the houses for the whole day.
At the end, the experiences gained throughout the day were shared and the event concluded with a speech of thanks.
In this event Program Manager of Peace and Community Action Mr. T. Rajendran was presented along with Ampara District Secretariat Coordinator for Non-Governmental Organizations (Mr.MIM. Irfan) and members of the Kalmunai, Kalmunai North and Damana division Reconciliation Committee members were also present.
